Tried Everything But Still in Pain?

Your Pain Deserves a Deeper Look

You’ve tried chiropractors, physical therapy, massage, or even injections—but the pain still comes back.

Temporary relief isn’t enough. You need to understand why the problem keeps returning and what’s actually preventing your body from moving the way it should.

My approach goes beyond chasing symptoms.

As a Chiropractor in St. Petersburg, FL, I evaluate how your joints, muscles, and movement patterns work together to identify what’s limiting your movement and contributing to your pain. From there, I combine hands-on treatment with targeted corrective exercises to address the underlying dysfunction and help you move better.

Instead of repeating the same cycle of short-term relief, we work toward meaningful, lasting progress—so you can get back to training, competing, and doing the activities you enjoy.

— About Me

“I help active people in St. Pete finally understand and correct the real cause of their pain, so they can move freely and confidently again.”

Dr. Joshua Ubbes was born and raised in southwestern Ohio. Participating in sports was a major part of his life growing up. As a third generation gymnast in the family, he competed at a high level and was an Ohio state champion for his age group at 12 years old. His sports participation turned to golf and tennis through high school, two sports he continues to be passionate about today.

Dr. Josh obtained his bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He valued his undergraduate education, as it focused on biomechanical output and physiology of the human body. He had little idea at the time how valuable his undergraduate focus would become in his professional career.

Stop Chasing the Pain. Start Addressing What’s Causing It.

Dr. Josh is a skilled Chiropractor in St. Petersburg, FL, who helps athletes and active adults move better, recover from injuries, and return to the activities they love. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University in Marietta, Georgia, in 2021. His approach centers on the body’s ability to adapt, recover, and maintain health, with an emphasis on drug-free, evidence-informed care for musculoskeletal conditions.

Rather than focusing only on where it hurts, Dr. Josh looks at how the entire body moves and works together. He combines chiropractic care with soft tissue therapy, corrective exercise, and functional rehabilitation to address movement limitations, restore function, and help patients build lasting resilience.

Dr. Josh also incorporates evidence-based techniques such as Functional Movement Screening, Myofascial Release, and Kinesiology Taping when appropriate. For golfers, he uses principles and protocols from the Titleist Performance Institute to evaluate movement patterns that may affect both physical comfort and performance on the course.

Understand Your Body. Take Control of Your Recovery.

Education plays a major role in his approach. Dr. Josh helps patients understand what may be contributing to their symptoms, what they can do between visits, and how each stage of their plan supports their goals. Instead of taking a passive role in treatment, patients become active participants in improving their movement, recovery, and performance.

Whether you’re dealing with a sports injury, recurring discomfort, or a movement issue that keeps holding you back, Dr. Josh works to identify the underlying factors and create a plan built around you.

Questions We Hear From Active Adults In Pain Every Day

Q1: What makes this different from PT or chiropractic care I've already tried?
You did everything they told you to do. You showed up, followed the plan, and put in the work—yet you’re still not better. They kept treating where it hurt without addressing what was actually driving the pain.

Our approach looks beyond the painful area to uncover what others may have missed. We analyze how your joints, muscles, and overall movement patterns work together to identify the underlying dysfunctions contributing to your pain and discomfort. Then, we address those limitations directly—helping active people move beyond temporary relief and toward pain-free performance.

“I learned more about my hip in one visit with Dr. Josh than I did in 3 months of PT.” — Michael P.

At Eagle Sport & Spine, you won’t get an assembly-line clinic experience. Every session gives you a full hour, one-on-one with Dr. Josh. No generic exercise printouts. No bouncing between providers. No rushing you in and out the door. You get focused, personalized care built around your body, your movement, and your goals.

Absolutely—you can still be a client. Being “active” looks different for everyone.

Maybe you’re training for a marathon. Maybe you want to pick up your kids without back pain, finish a round of golf without your back tightening up, or go for a run without feeling it for the rest of the week.

You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from performance rehab. You just need something you want to do—and a body that’s currently holding you back.

Stop constantly modifying your activities, compensating for pain, or simply powering through it. Start working toward moving the way you want to move again.

At Eagle Sport & Spine, we work with people who want to understand what’s driving the problem, address it directly, and move beyond the cycle of temporary relief and ongoing maintenance.

This is one of the most common questions we get, and the answer is almost always no.

We work with people who refuse to slow down, and that’s the whole point. Our programs are built around your training, not against it. The goal isn’t to “take it easy” until you’re “healed.” It’s to find what compensations are happening, and fix them so you can keep training with confidence.

In most cases, we’ll supplement how you train, rather than stop you from training. You’ll keep running, keep going to the gym, keep doing what you love, except now you’ll have a rehab strategy behind it instead of powering through and hoping for the best.

Giving up what you love to do isn’t an acceptable answer at Eagle Sport & Spine.

Yes. That’s actually what the free performance assessment is designed to do, to give you clarity up front on what’s actually wrong, and help you make a confident decision to move forward from there.

You’re not a five-minute stretch routine away from breaking free from chronic pain, and you already know that. What you need before anything else is a real explanation of the root cause, which most people have never actually been given after months or years of dealing with pain.

By the end of the free performance assessment, you’ll know why your body is breaking down, what’s been previously overlooked, and what a realistic path forward looks like. No vague advice, and definitely not “just take it easy for a few weeks and stretch more.”

There’s no catch. The free visit exists because clarity on chronic pain shouldn’t be complicated to access.

Most people come to us after spending months or years bouncing between providers without ever getting a clear explanation of what’s actually wrong. The free performance assessment is our way of giving you that clarity before you commit to anything more.

We’ll do a full movement assessment, walk you through the findings, and tell you if we can help. If we’re a good fit, we’ll talk about what a 1:1 program looks like. If we’re not, we’ll tell you that too and point you in the right direction.

Whether you decide to move forward into a 1:1 program or not, you leave with more clarity than you walked in with.

Eagle Sport & Spine is a self-pay practice, so we don’t bill insurance. We made that choice intentionally so we can focus your care on you—not an insurance code.

Many of our clients come to us after spending months or even years paying co-pays, moving from provider to provider, and still searching for lasting answers.

Traditional insurance plans can limit visit length, treatment options, and the number of covered sessions. Those restrictions may shape your care around what insurance will reimburse rather than what best supports your individual goals and activity level.

We take a different approach. Your program revolves around how you move, what you want to get back to doing, and what’s holding you back. Every session gives you a full hour, one-on-one with Dr. Josh, with no rushing through appointments or following a one-size-fits-all protocol.

Our goal isn’t simply to help you function well enough to get through the day. We work with you to build toward the level of movement, activity, and performance that matters to you.

We also accept HSA and FSA funds, giving many clients another way to invest in their one-on-one care.

We understand why drop-in visits sound appealing—especially when you’ve already invested time and money in care that didn’t deliver lasting results. But relying on one-off visits can keep you stuck in the same cycle you’re trying to break.

A single visit may address what hurts today, but lasting progress requires more than temporary relief. Without a clear progression, each appointment starts from scratch instead of building on the work you’ve already done.

At Eagle Sport & Spine, we take a structured approach. We identify the movement limitations contributing to your problem, build a plan around your goals, and progressively challenge your body as you improve. Each session builds on the last, helping you develop the strength, mobility, and movement capacity needed to keep making progress.

Think of it like training in the gym. One workout every now and then won’t create meaningful change. Consistency, progression, and accountability drive results. Your rehab should work the same way.

Start with a free Performance Assessment. There’s no commitment beyond that first visit. You’ll get a clearer picture of what may be holding you back, understand the recommended next steps, and decide whether Eagle Sport & Spine is the right fit for your goals.

You’ll spend up to an hour one-on-one with Dr. Josh. No waiting rooms, no 30 minute intake packet, no being handed off to multiple assistants forcing you to re-explain yourself. The full hour is yours.

We’ll start by understanding your injury history, but also how you train, what you’ve tried, what’s worked and what hasn’t. Then we’ll go through a detailed movement assessment to analyze how your body is functioning under load.

By the end, you’ll have:

-A clear explanation of what’s actually wrong, and why your symptoms keep happening.

-An honest answer on whether we’re the right fit to help you get there.

-A realistic picture of what it would take to finally get results.

Applying for your free performance assessment takes less than 60 seconds. After you submit the quick form, Dr. Josh will personally reach out within 24 hours to learn more about your situation and get you scheduled for your assessment!
